Sodium Phosphate

Sodium Phosphate is a supplement that you can take that helps buffer lactic acid. The studies show you can take 1-3 minutes off your 40k TT with them. I got some from Hammer nutrition and the problems I read about using it came true. I got two night good sleep and still needed two naps. I also had a case of bad smelling gas. I got off of it after 2 days and feel much better today. Guess I won't be trying this stuff again.

  1. Sorry, you only take it for 4 days prior to a race and you can only take it 3-4 times a year bc you will get used to it. This was my test phase and it went bad. Gained and lost 3 pounds after getting off of it. So I didn't get a chance to try it out on my half marathon tomorrow that I am not really looking forward to now. Oh well, it was worth a try. My reason for using it is bc I only get to race about 20% of what I would like and so I put a lot of pressure on myself. I like to race and it is run when I race more then 3 times a year (including little races) so this was insurance reasoning.
